To my sweet baby boy,

Never, in all my years, have I met a cat that was as sweet as you. You would meet me at the door whenever I came home, and boy would you meow if I took too long to open up. As soon as I came in, you insisted that I pick you up, or you would climb up me to get to your favorite resting spot, my shoulder. Well, baby mine, you have a new resting spot now on the shoulders of angels.

You came to me at a very sad time in my life and you helped me just by being you. Whenever I was sad, you'd lick my nose and rub your face against it and then insist that I pet you. You never gave me any trouble and always came running whenever I called. (Especially if I had treats.)

Bob, you had a short life, but you touched my life in a way that I will never forget. You were a miracle to me. I sing (badly) to all of my pets one special song for each of the three of you, and your song will always be just yours. I'm going to finish this letter with the words to that song and I'll still sing it to you baby, because I know you can hear me. One day, I know I'll hold you again.

Baby mine, don't you cry.
Baby mine, dry your eyes.
Lay your head next to my heart,
Never to part, baby of mine.

I'll love you forever, Mommy
