Scamper

Scamper joined our family in 1994 along with his one brother and two sisters. His mother, a cat that was able to run the neighborhood, had a litter of kittens by our house. Due to the weather being cold, and my soft heart, I could not let these two day old kittens stay outside to die. So we took in the kittens and the mother. We contacted the neighbor to say that we had them, thinking that she would want them and she didn’t. All she wanted was the mother. We told her that after the kittens were weaned that she could get the mother back. We ended up having them in the house and watched them grow and play together.

Scamper was a sweet little boy. The way that he got his name was because of the way that he used to “scamper” out of the crate when they were kittens. He was always the first one out and the last one back in. He was such a cute kitten and so loving. He joined the rest of t he family of pets ~ Pequeno` and Liquor at that time, along with a couple of dogs. They all got along so well together. They were even good when we had a couple of litters of puppies.

Scamper is the last one left out of the litter of kittens that we rescued. His brother ~ Tres and sisters ~ Abby and Jennie have already passed, along with Pequeno` and Liquor. He is the last of the orange tabby’s that we had. Scamper lived to be 16 years old and when he died he died of kidney failure. He was a loving cat, would go into the bathroom with you in the morning to let you know that he was hungry. If he saw you he would run into the kitchen and stand by his food bowl until you put food into it. He loved to play with the dogs and the other cat Phoenix that Josh has. He loved to lie on the arm of the couch to sleep. He liked to come into the bedroom and sleep with the dogs too. Sometimes I think that he thought he was a dog.

Scamper will be truly missed by m e and his daddy Josh, Phoenix and Gabriel who were his buddies in Robinson and his friends Montana, Arianne, Megan and Chloe who visit during the year. Scamper you were a good friend to us all, and may you rest in peace now my dear furry little boy. There is a sad place in our hearts for your loss but we have many memories of you.
