Foozie
Born: March 1994
Died: July 15, 2009
Foozie was 15 years old and was a kind, gentle, loving cat whose only request from us was to be held and loved. He was named for his uncanny skill at playing foozeball. Foozie "adopted" us when he was about 6 weeks old when someone found him behind a woodpile and brought him to Alice's office and he would not leave. He started the day by waking Larry to go for a walk and then would sit in Alice's lap while she had breakfast before he took his mid morning nap. He loved to nap with people and if anyone went to take a nap he would come and join them. He liked to make eye contact and then have Larry chase him around the house and we he was ready to be caught he would lay down and get a belly rub. Foozie would sit for hours in Alice's lap while she worked on her art and one of his favorite things was to get a shoulder ride on Alice's shoulder. He loved going into the garden to look for lizards and would sit in the bay window looking at the birds. He was a little security guard for the house and would do a security perimeter check of the house every night before he was comfortable enough to go to bed for the night. Foozie was very particular in his needed services from Alice and Larry. He would only eat white fish that was very fresh and his water fountain had to be filtered and cleaned 2 times a month or he would not use it. Alice would get the center pink portion of his canned food as he would not eat the brown outside food and would fling his paw in disgust and snort if his food or something did not meet his approval, and communicate to her that "you can do better than that, try again". We loved every moment of the 15 years with Foozie and he loved us back. We lost him on July 15th 2009 from a brain tumor. Foozie was a great dancer. He would raise his front two paws up to have Larry pick him up to dance and his favorite songs to dance to were Johnny Mathis songs. When we were dancing and a Johnny Mathis song came on his little tail would keep beat to the music as we danced. We will never forget Foozie and know his spirit lives on to be reunited with our spirits again. We love you Foozeman.
