Girlie

To my little lover girl. You were the most affectionate, friendly and cuddly friend I could ever have asked for. I could always count on you to crawl under the covers with me and purr me to sleep or to be at my feet everywhere I went. There was never a person who was a stranger to you for long...you could make friends with anyone. When the vet told me that you wouldn't make it, I cried for days then spent the next few weeks doing everything I could to make you happy and comfortable. Little did you know that the way you looked at me and the way you loved me back, was just as much a comfort to me. You died in my arms and, although I was heartbroken, I was happy we were together. I buried you under the tree my grandpa planted when I was a little girl, in hopes that it would keep you safe. I will always love you and treasure the years we had together.
