Star, we brought you home with us on March 18, 2000. We were looking for a girlfriend for our male golden, Buddy, when we lucked up and found you. We fell in love with you as soon as we saw you. Star, you had the most beautiful face, mesmerizing eyes, gorgeous coat, and greatest temperment. You were always the first to greet us and welcome us home. You gave us two litters of the most beautiful puppies ever created so that we may bring happiness to many people. You were loyal, faithful, kind and gentle and all you asked for in return was love. We loved you with all of our hearts. We loved to take walks with you and to brush and rub on you. We know you loved it just as much as we did. The thing that I loved most about you, Star, was your eyes. They reminded me of the eyes of an angel; so full of warmth, compassion, innocence, and most of all, love.

In May 2007, I found two growths on the bottom of your belly, which after being removed were tested and turned out to be cancerous. We were told by our vet that you had mammory cancer. We were devastated beyond belief. We did everything we could possibly do for you, but the cancer was too aggressive. You fought for several months as did we in trying to keep you as happy and comfortable as possible, but the cancer was just too much and it caused you to not be able to stand up or walk. When this happened, we knew that this was just too much for you and us to bare. Your mother and I had a tough decision to make and we made the choice to put you to sleep so you would not have to suffer anymore, but, before we could take you in, the Lord came and took you from us into a better place. When you passed away, you were at home in your favorite place with Buddy and Casey nearby watching over you.

Star, you were truly a good companion and best friend who we will always love and miss. We have alot of pictures, videos and memories to remind us all of better, happier days with you. Star, I hope you loved us as much as we did you but I'm pretty sure you did. Until we meet you again Star, you will always be in our hearts and minds.

Early detection of many diseases can literally be the difference between a long, healthy life and a difficult, painfull life for those who we love and cherish so much. Also spaying and neutering is very important; not only to not have unwanted animals but the health benefits are so very, very important.
