Griffin
Born: October 13, 2001
Died: May 7, 2008
Griffin came into my life as a very sick Cavalier King Charles Spaniel that I bought from a pet store on L.I. I knew he was ill, but the moment I looked into his big brown eyes, I knew I had to save his life. I brought him home on February 9, 2002. Griffin was diagnosed with double pneumonia, parasites, fleas etc. He was 4 pounds all love. My family and I nursed our puppy back to health by giving him shots of antibiotic and inhaled anitbiotic twice a day. After a month, he was a very healthy puppy and I had found that unconditional love only a pet can give you.
Griffin was very special as he helped a family member cope with chemotherapy treatments by keeping them happy and warm. He helped me cope with their death and was my therapy dog throughout all of this.
Griffin was just a fluffy ball of love. Anyone who met him fell in love immediately, even Casey the cat & especially my new husband. Griffin lived just to sit on your lap and cover you with kisses. He made you laugh when you needed it most, and cuddled with you when you needed a friend.
We had hoped to have him for at least a few more years, but it was not meant to be. God took Griffin from us suddenly on May 7, 2008 and our hearts are broken and the house is so empty without him. There will never be another dog who could replace Griffin, he was one of a kind. I guess God sent this special Angel to me when I needed him most, and called him back home when his work on Earth was done.
R.I.P. Griffin, until we meet again, you have touched my heart and my life in a very specail way.
