Chelsea

My Husband brought Chelsea home to me when she was 5 weeks old. She was the cutest little brown ball of fur. Part Chocolate Lab, part Spitz. She was the best dog. Well-tempered, gentle but had a bark that demanded respect. She always listened, never chewed or destroyed anything. Always happy and she loved to be outside. She loved laying right out in the middle of the yard, even in the pouring rain. In August of 2002 she was diagonosed with diabetes. She required insulin shots twice/day. We almost lost her. She made it thru, but it's been difficult for her. She lost her eyesight to glaucoma. And just this year she began to get even sicker and we had made plans to put her down. But, she didn't let us get that far, and she went on her own this past weekend. She will be dearly missed. She leaves behind my Husband and I, our son whose four, and our other dog, with whom she had five beautiful pups, Jake. I can't say that I've owned or even known another dog as wonderful as she was. She was my Chelsea girl.
