Candy

Hello - My Name is Candy and I left my wonderful Mum and Dad in August 2000. I had such a happy life with them and Grandad Bill who passed in February 2000. Also Sandy my Friend a little tortoiseshell cat who passed in 1999 aged 22!!!!!

I was 4 in the picture and Mum and Dad were so proud of me for sitting for this picture and I must say I really don’t know how I did it.

I took over their house when I arrived age 6 months and told them “this is how it’s going to be”. Well what I didn’t know was they had already had another Irish Setter before me (Lola), so knew exactly what I would be like and were very prepared to spoil me for my whole life. I was loved to bits and cried over when I was ill.

The last year of my life Mum had to hand feed me as only half of my throat was open and she did this with much love and understanding.

I passed at home after a short illness and am buried in the garden with lots of flowers above me.

Also I understand Mum and Dad are dog sitting my Gt Gt Gt Niece Tara who was born the month I passed and lives not far from my house.

I like to think that I, with God’s help, pointed my Mum in the direction of Tara to help her through my passing.
