Carrie Ann
Born: January 21, 1996
Died: December 5, 2008
Carrie Ann was the second of four puppies born to Jade Nicole on January 21st, 1996. I knew from the moment I saw her that there was something special about her and that I had to keep her. We also kept her brother Quincy. Carrie was such a wonderful little girl, she hardly ever barked like the rest of them, and later when she was old enough to have her own puppies she was the best mother to them all. In order to know that it was her going in the bedroom that we set up as the nursery we put a collar on her so that we knew it was her and not her mom. After that we never could take it off. She also had a name tag so that when she walked it jingled. That was kind of her signature around the house. The first litter of pups that she had we sold them all but the last litter she had 9 years ago we kept a male and female. Originally the male was going to go to one of the grandparents however my dad fell and broke his hip and my mom was losing Chelsea and didn't want another dog. So we ended up keeping them both. Which was OK because it gave both of the pups someone the same age to play with.
Carrie was known by different names, Carrie, Care bear, and Jingles were a few. But no matter what you called her she would come running to you. When you gave her a bath if you forgot to put her collar with the tags back on her she would lay and pout until she got them back on, because without them she was like everyone else. She would sleep with us at night and loved to sleep between two pillows of my husbands. Then after awhile she would sleep on the youth bed that we had next to our bed with a large body pillow on it. Carrie loved to play when she was younger but as she got older her playfulness seemed to leave. But once in a while it would come back. Then a few months ago we noticed that she was losing weight and took her to the vet and they said that she had a thyroid problem. So we put her on thyroid medication, but the weight kept coming off so more blood work showed problems with her liver and kidneys. We kept hoping and praying that she would get better but she started to refuse to take her medicine and stopped eating her dog food and we knew that she was telling us something.
Carrie I miss you so much, my heart is breaking and the tears are flowing but I know that you are better off because you are not suffering anymore. I also know that you are with your momma Nikki, brother Quincy, Kiwi, and also your grandma Marcy who probably had a bunch of your favorite treats for you to eat. God bless you my little one and thank you for giving me almost 13 wonderful years. I will be thinking of you and Quincy on your birthday in January.
Love you always Jingles,
Mom, Dad and Josh
