Nikita aka Nikki

Nikita aka Nikki

Born: 1987

Died: 2002

Nikki came home at 8 weeks old. I got her from a local breeder and she was smaller than my palm. She was itty bitty. I had never had a yorkie of my own before and I wanted a little dog to carry with me everywhere I went. Nikki was that and more. She had so much life and spunk in her. She was just under 5 lbs. and brave as can be. One day a snake (python) snuck into my apartment through a pipe drain and she was barking all night to let me know it was there. She wasn't afraid at all. The snake was a pet from a neighbor next door. I loved to photograph her. She won a few ribbons for "Best in Show" at the county fairs. I adored her and she was a great friend. She spent a lot of time with me and then one day she started having seizures. She was placed on medication soon after but lived to be 15 years old before she passed away in 2002. I had passed her on to a mature couple when I thought I was moving to Arizona and they took very good care of her before she crossed over. Despite her size, she was a real prize winner. As you can see, she is the look of perfection here. I miss her and one day she will greet me when it's time to go home.
