Zip

The day after Thanksgiving 2005 we lost one of my best friends Zip. Zip was just seven years old when he left us, not a day goes by that I do not feel the loss. Zip had been fighting lymphoma for a year and a half, he had even gone threw chemo, the only problem is that it had not worked. We knew up front that there was only a chance it would work but we had to take the chance.

Zip had non ending boundless energy, he could play ball, Frisbee, or swim for hours, my wife and I had to be careful on what we said around him because he understood what we were saying. Zip was the smartest dog I have ever known. He was our travel dog; he went everywhere with us, horse shows every weekend all summer, and even on vacation. Zip had been to Reno, Disneyland, Magic Mountain, and Universal Studios. The only time Zip was away form us was Christmas 2004 when he had to spend two days in the hospital from a reaction to his Chemo treatments. He got better and we had him with us for almost another year. Our hearts are broken over him leaving us so young but we were blessed to have had him in our lives, we still miss him every day.
